N5414H is currently off-line.

N5414H was the fifth Super Cub ever built and rolled off the line in 1949 with serial number 18-5. It is currently undergoing a complete restoration.  This page will be dedicated to documenting the progress and process of rebuilding N5414H.

08/01/2005 The fuselage has arrived!!!  I wasn't sure what I would be facing when I went to pick it up from the freight company and was delighted with what I found. Airframes had made two stands. One mounted to the tailwheel spring mount and the other to the main gear mount. These were bolted to the fuselage and then screwed into the floor of the trailer. All we had to do was unscrew it from the semi, carry it to our own trailer and then screw it to that floor. Piece of cake! I'm looking forward to starting. I just cant say enough about the quality of work that comes out of Airframes Inc. Every weld on this airframe is a work of art.

06/30/2005 Currently, Lee up at Airframes Inc. is patiently listening to the modifications we would like to make to his standard fuselage. Most of the changes are a result of looking at Brett Nelson's current project. Brett has giving a lot of thought to all the little idiosyncrasies of the stock Super Cub and has come up with a number of improvements. we're fortunate he's letting us take pictures of his work so we can better express what we want Lee to add. Lee and his crew are far better equipped to make the modifications we want. Welding parts onto the fuselage is beyond the work we want to tackle.

06/08/2005 The wings are on order with Dakota Cub! In a few weeks we should have all new wings for 14H with 16 ribs and flaps to meet the requirements of the Cub Crafters 180 HP conversion. We're also changing the fuel capacity to the 24 gallon tanks.

06/03/2005 The replacement fuselage has been ordered from Airframes Inc.. We will be replacing 14H's standard fuselage with an all new 4" wider than stock fuselage. In addition to being wider than stock the Airframes Inc. fuselage incorporates most if not all of the popular Alaska mods.
